Project Objectives

Keeping the background, the action research cum intervention project “Holistic-Sustainable Tribal Development Through Social Transformation And Development of Demonstrative Replicable Models” is designed with the following objectives:

  • Understanding landscape features and their interrelationship with the social system, development of CRP (Community Resource Persons) for Holistic Tribal Development through convergence
  • Develop Action Research methodology and demonstrate tribal entrepreneurship for climate-resilient organic farming
  • Intervention for Sustainable Agribusiness, adoption of appropriate technology for agriculture and horticulture, pasture development, indigenous seed banks
  • Identification of Ecosystem Services, herbal gardens for conservation of rare and endemic plants, preventive health care, the revival of traditional knowledge, non-destructive harvesting and processing of NTFPs and nurseries
  • Short term residential courses, immersion for the NFST research scholars by bridging tribal research with community development
  • Develop International collaboration and showcase the outcomes of MoTA supported projects
  • Training for Sustainable Forest Management for FRA and documentation of good practices
